Rubber Identification Analysis

  • Infrared spectroscopy (IR) is commonly regarded as the optimal technique for analyzing various polymeric materials. With the continuous improvement and development of infrared instruments, particularly advancements in computer technology, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy has become a favorable and commonly used tool for rubber analysis. This paper illustrates the method of testing nitrile rubber using the FTIR-7600 Fourier Infrared Spectrometer with practical sample tests.
  • In the Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis of rubber, there are two methods. One is the conventional method for identifying and analyzing rubber. The other method involves the analysis and identification of rubber using infrared diffuse reflection and Attenuated Total Reflection(ATR).
