Introduction

Gas discharge lamps have no filament so that they produce light by ionizing the atoms or molecules of the gas inside a sealed quartz tube with a huge electric current travel between opposing poles. The emitting color of the lamp depends on many factors: mixture of gases, other materials inside the tube, gas pressure, type and amount of the electric current, etc. He, Ne, H and N discharge tubes are four frequently used sources in physical labs. This lamp integrates four tubes in one lamp cover, thus removing the need for lamp replacement. This makes it suitable for physics education at universities and colleges.
